SLOGA - the Slovene platform for non-governmental organisations for development, global education and humanitarian aid (Slovene Global Action) - is a national platform of NGOs, which work in the field of international development cooperation, global education and humanitarian aid.
The aim of the platform is to connect and strengthen partnerships among Slovenian NGOs, which are active and/or are raising awareness of the Slovenian and European public on the uneven distribution of global wealth and subsequent significance of global solidarity and interdependence.
The main task of SLOGA is to monitor and actively cooperate in the design, implementation and evaluation of Slovenian and European policies of international development cooperation, with the aim of advocating for the public interest in the field of social balance and responsibility, respect for human rights, equal opportunities, education, solidarity, sustainable development and greater integration of vulnerable social groups into decision-making processes in the context of development cooperation. Thus, SLOGA actively cooperates with political decision-makers and representatives of Slovenian media.
SLOGA organises education and training activities for development non-governmental organisations, informs relevant stakeholders about contemporary issues at national, European and global level on weekly basis, links non-governmental organisations for joint candidatures for European and national calls, and encourages all interested stakeholders to cooperate in SLOGA's working groups.
SLOGA is a partner organisation of Bridge 47 and has two national officers working for the project. They coordinate the project at the national level and are also members of the Partnerships and Innovation teams.
Being part of the Partnerships team we explore new ways of working in partnership with organisations that have previously not engaged with Global Citizenship Education, to bring its ideals and practices to new audiences. We are also strengthening existing partnerships.
Being part of the Innovation team we are co-responsible for the sub-granting mechanism with the aim of finding and supporting best grass-root Global Citizenship Education practices around Europe
SLOGA coordinates the work among Slovenian civil society organisations and state institutions on Global Citizenship Education and Sustainable Development, and shares the work of Bridge 47 in Slovenia. This includes communication, advocacy, trainings and events.
