Bridge 47 was created to bring people together to share and learn from each other. We mobilize civil society (NGOs) from all around the world to do their part in creating a more fair, peaceful and equitable world with the help of Global Citizenship Education.
The project was funded by the European Union and ran from October 2017 until July 2021. Bridge 47 focused on furthering Target 4.7 of the Sustainable Development Goals through advocacy, innovation and partnership work. You can read more about Target 4.7 below. Additionally, the project focused on building the Bride 47 Network, which is a vibrant coalition of individuals from around the globe dedicated to furthering Target 4.7 and Global Citizenship education. You can still join the Bridge 47 network, which is an active place to share and exchange with colleagues in the field.
Global Citizenship Education (GCE)
GCE inspires people to do more for each other and our planet. We believe everyone can change the world. With the help of Global Citizenship Education, we can learn to do things better, to live by values that make a difference. Global Citizenship Education encourages us to reflect upon our assumptions, make informed decisions and demand policies that create a more fair and equal world. Below, some of our Network members talk about why Bridge 47 is important in this context:
Target 4.7
The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development created new opportunities – and also new challenges – for all of us. For the first time in the global context, target 4.7. of Agenda 2030 recognized how important it is for learners of all ages to have the knowledge and skills needed to act for sustainable development. Bridge 47 was created to coordinate our efforts in responding to this challenge. The video below helps to explain the link between The Sustainable Development goals and Target 4.7.
